The role

Are you a qualified Social Worker with significant experience of working with children and families?

You will have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and hold a recognised social work qualification together with demonstrable experience of working with children and families in highly complex situations.

Southwark’s fostering Service is one of the largest in London and as such we place great emphasis on staff recruitment and development to ensure we offer our Foster carers an effective level of support as required.

The fostering service is an excellent place to advance your social work career and work collaboratively with peers and management in developing your skills, knowledge and experience with access to a range of training.

Southwark use a Secure Base as a model of working with families and all social workers are trained in this method of working.

The teams within the Fostering service cover the range of short and long term fostering placements as well as Special Guardianship assessments and support.

Social workers are fully supported in their roles with access to reflective and clinical group supervision.

Southwark redesigned its Children’s Social Care to enable us work systemically and collaboratively in small practice groups to help improve the lives of children and families.

We are determined that all children enjoy good outcomes and are committed to Restorative Practices having a transformational impact on culture and professional practice working.

We are committed to freeing you up to do social work and will provide manageable case-loads with additional administrative support so you can spend more time working with families than in front of your computer.
